Company objectives
Open University Worldwide Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Open University. It contributes to the core business of The Open University in two key ways:

(i) by supporting the OU in using its expertise and experience as a world leader in supported open learning;
(ii) by aiming to increase the financial return to the OU from its international and corporate activities.

The following general objectives are derived from the purpose statement above:
  1. To generate a financial return from international and corporate activities through sales of learning materials, consultancy and the development of partnerships;
  2. To promote the University as a global leader in distance education while ensuring that the OU's academic and pedagogic reputation is protected;
  3. To enhance worldwide the OU brand and key values and mission of the institution.
