Wicked Waste - T542This pack includes a CD-ROM and a Teacher’s Guide
The interactive educational CD-ROM focuses on the life of selected raw materials (plastics, paper, metals, glass and organic materials). The user takes a journey following the life cycle of these materials and on the way, explores the environmental impact that they have on the environment. All journeys begin with a context that young people can relate to and then moves them on to a deeper understanding. Throughout the journey there are quizzes and assignments that require the user to move away from the computer screen.
The teacher's guide, suggesting ways of using the material and providing advice on how to use the CD-ROM, both as a vehicle for environmental education and as a rich context for literacy and numeracy. Handouts enable the pack's use to be extended to groups of pupils who only have access to one computer.
