Video Civil War - End Game - XA005/04V/04
XA005/04V/04 As the King is under lock and key, the army debates the future. English Socialism is born, the King loses his head and England. Scotland and Ireland are united under a military dictator.

After four days in a pub in the fens, the King gives himself up to the Scots. But new Catholic victories in Ireland unite the Scots and English and the King is sold back to the English Parliamentarians. Now, as a prisoner on house arrest, he becomes a pawn in a bigger game. The New Model Army takes the King hostage and at Putney, they start to debate a different society. Charles runs away again and as Parliamentary troops pour into Ireland, he does a deal with the Scottish Covenanters. A second civil war erupts in England - which is brutally suppressed by Cromwell. By re-igniting the war, Charles' fate is sealed, a death warrant is forced through Parliament and the King finally loses his head.
